MYTHS OF CENTRAL ANATOLIA AND ISTANBUL

Apart from the rock-carved churches and volcanic formations of Cappadocia, Central Anatolia offers a wealth of sights packed with Neolithic settlements, Hittite ruins, Caravan Serais, Phrygian burial mounds. Central Anatolia is home to the myth of the Phrygian King Midas, with his golden touch. It is in Gordion, the capital city of the Phrygians, where Alexander the Great cut the famous Gordion Knot. It is home to Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi where he started Sufism, better known as Whirling Dervishes. Catalhoyuk in Central Anatolia is home to the very first settlement ever found, which existed between 7500 BC and 5700 BC. It is home to the Hittites, who established their capital city and ruled the whole of Asia Minor. We have designed this tour, not only to see the lesser knows gems of Istanbul, but create a better understanding of the richness of Central Anatolia, with a diverse array of civilizations.
